Hello there, Fellow Lions...
We are now almost to the end of the third quarter of the fiscal year; we believe we have done well in terms of service. Have we not? Reports have been very fulfilling and exciting; many clubs are on service-driven gear to reap satisfaction and happiness among members. Some clubs even went to the extra to do more, which is good if you have the resources. Fellow Lions, keep on doing what you feel is right and beneficial. As the saying goes; ‘A Lions’ work is never done’. We continue to serve and we serve well as a true believer of a Lion family.
Fellow Lions, we have to bring to everyone attention that our membership is still at the lowest at the moment. Why are people not joining us? Why are Lions members leaving us? Why? Why? Did we not portray ourselves as the No. 1 NGO in the world well enough? Did our message as the world largest service organization not penetrate into the general public? Did we not invite a true member? But why is this happening? Fellow Lions, you know the answer or answers. You know what to do…and we believe you will do what it takes to spruce up our membership instantly. We believe membership in Lions is our lifeline; an extra pairs of helping hands; our resource. We believe our strength is our membership.
We conducted the President’s Retention Campaign seminar recently; hopefully those presidents and senior Lions who attended will bring back those messages for club rebuilding and ‘maintenance’. This campaign is built for club presidents to help keep members interested and engaged. It focuses on the three primary ‘threats’ to retention and offers proven solutions and evaluation questionnaires to address these challenges. We discussed on ‘Working Together’, ‘Club Meetings’, ‘Club Dynamics’ and ‘Involvement’. LCI is still rewarding clubs for their success with this campaign with President’s Retention Campaign Banner Patch, in two ways;
1. Retain Lions from one year to the next - 90% of the members in the club on July 1st of the fiscal year must be in the club on June 30th of the next year. Death and transfers are excluded.
2. Reverse longer-term membership losses - Clubs of any size had net membership losses for the previous two years, but attain a ‘zero’ net loss or better, in the current fiscal year ending June 30th, will also receive a banner patch to acknowledge their achievements.
Fellow Lions, now is the time to re-analyze your club and your members. We believe you can do it. We believe every club wants to be ‘strong’. We believe, we can stay together and walk together.
See all of you in Kuching next month.’
Be Cool.... "We Believe"
